What is Data Warehousing?
Data Warehousing (DWH) is a process for collecting and managing data from varied sources to provide meaningful business insights. A data warehouse can be on premise or in the cloud and is typically used to connect and analyse business data from heterogeneous sources. The data warehouse is the core of the Data & Analytics (D & A) system which is built for data analysis and reporting.
We deploy three types of warehouses
Enterprise Data Warehouse is a centralized warehouse. It provides decision support service across the enterprise. It offers a unified approach for organizing and representing data. It also provides the ability to classify data according to category and permit access according to those divisions.
Operational Data Store, is simply data storage required when neither a data warehouse nor OLTP system support an organization’s reporting requirements. In ODS, the data warehouse is refreshed in real time. Hence, it is widely preferred for routine activities such as storing employee records.
A data mart is a subset of the data warehouse. It is typically designed for a particular line of business, such as your sales or finance department. In an independent data mart, data can be collected, used and manipulated directly from the designated source.
The warehouse is designed to bring together all your data, at any scale, easily. Horsa uses a blend of methodologies and technologies to transform your data into actionable insights which every user can utalise through analytical dashboards, operational reports or advanced analytics.
Once we've created a data warehouse built for Data & Analytics, it's time to transform your raw data.
